Jobs at the Fox & Goose

The shareholder members of the Fox and Goose democratically elect at our AGM our Board of Directors, who are unpaid volunteers. The Board elects its officers (currently Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary) and appoints sub-committees. Directors are accountable to the membership, follow a code of conduct and have clear written roles and responsibilities. The Board reports to the membership via regular updates and newsletters and produces an Annual Report to the membership at our AGM. Our membership has adopted the Co-operatives UK Co-Operative Corporate Governance Code which guides and shapes our Governance of the Fox and Goose

The Board of Directors acts as the employer and recruits the Business Manager and Pub Manager to run the co-operative on behalf of its shareholder members. The Business Manager’s main purpose is to ensure the sustainability of the business and to take responsibility for business planning and financial control. The Directors and the pub’s management team are supported by an accountant who is also the pub’s payroll provider. The Business Manager works alongside the Pub Manager, who is responsible for the operational aspects of the day to day running of the pub, and reports to the Directors via regular meetings and through a link Director who is the Treasurer.
